Inhale and Exhale: Guided Breathing

Join Alex Heidt, MT-BC for a guided breathing exercise. Kick back in a comfortable chair, focusing on your breathing, and enjoy! Video at the bottom of the blog!

In this video, Alex uses the keyboard to entrain your breathing to the music. In music therapy, entrainment is the process of syncing a physiological function with a musical element. As you watch this video and follow Alex's guided breathing instructions, your breath should begin to match the music being played. As the notes played on the piano rise, take a deep breath in and as the notes fall, take a deep breath out.

Music is a powerful tool for relaxation, especially when paired with the breathing imagery and instructions in this video. Take 10 minutes for yourself today to take a breath and be mindful in the moment.
