The Center for Music Therapy and Wellness, LLC, serving Southwest, MO, has an opening for a part-time and full-time music therapy position. We are a diverse private practice with a large clinic space, located on the campus of Drury University. Services are also provided in the greater Southwest MO community. These positions provide the opportunity to work with diverse populations including: individuals with developmental disabilities (all ages), older adults in assisted living facilities, people diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, children with learning disabilities, hospice, and adolescents struggling with behavior disorders and substance abuse, and mental health related issues.

These positions also offer the opportunity to work as a practicum student supervisor and be an integral part of the training of music therapy students!

Many of the music therapy sessions take place in the on-campus clinic at Drury University. However, other sessions are held in client homes, assisted living facilities, schools, and hospitals in Southwest, MO. Reliable transportation will be required.

Clinicians will be provided all instruments and materials needed for the job. Benefits include paid vacation and Holidays, and a continuing education stipend.

Qualifications:

Music Therapist- Board Certified; 1 year of prior experience preferred, particularly in the areas of developmental disabilities and older adult care. We are looking for applicants that are highly motivated, work well independently, are creative, thrive in a diverse setting, and will work with both individuals and groups. Strong knowledge of the AMTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics are required. The ideal candidate should have excellent music skills including piano, guitar, and vocal skills. Applicants must also have excellent oral and written communication skills and be a team player. This job will require evening and weekend work. Reliable transportation is required.

Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
