Our clinic offers a wide variety of music therapy sessions for both groups and individuals. The therapy sessions are strategically designed by trained music therapy professionals to address the needs of the clients using music. Currently, we offer the following sessions:
Encore Music Therapy Group
Come join the fun and reap the benefits of ENCORE this spring! No musical experience required!
This music therapy group is designed to use music to address the common symptoms often experienced by those with Parkinson's disease. Experiences may include singing and harmonica playing to promote clear speech and breath support as well as rhythm based exercises to improve gross motor movement and muscle strength. Other musical activities will be used to help with cognitive functioning such as problem solving, memory, and attention.
This hour-long group meets every Friday from 11:30am-12:45pm at the Center for Music Therapy and Wellness at Drury University. This class is led by Alex Heidt, a board certified music therapist.
People diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and their loved ones are welcome to attend. Please call the clinic at 417- 861-7345 or send a message to the clinic to register! There is no charge to attend this group. Funding has been generously provided by Parkinson's Group of the Ozarks and Music Therapy of the Ozarks!
Individual Session (Adult)
$60 for a 1 hour Session
An individualized assessment is conducted in the initial sessions of treatment. Afterwards, the music therapist will create an individualized treatment plan with input from parent/guardian and other service providers. Data and documentation will be completed after each session. This documentation will be provided to the guardian on a monthly basis. Progress will be monitored closely and treatment plan will be updated as needed. Cost is $60.00 per therapy hour. Sessions can be arranged weekly or bi-monthly.

Senior Music Therapy Group
$120 per individual or $200 per couple for a 10-Week Term
This music therapy group is designed to use engaging music interventions to address the common struggles often experienced by seniors to assist in maintaining healthy living skills. Preferred, live music will be used to promote clear speech and breath support, gross motor movement and muscle strength, and cognitive functioning such as problem solving, memory, and attention.
This hour-long group meets every Friday from 10:00am-11:00am at the Center for Music Therapy and Wellness at Drury University for 10 weeks, beginning June 22nd. This semester's class will be led by Taylor Hicks, a board certified music therapist. People of all abilities are welcome to attend. Cost is $120.00 for an individual or $200 for a couple. Financial assistance is available.
Shining Stars Music Therapy Group (Ages 12-25)
$180.00 for a 12-Week Term plus concert
Groups consist of up to 8 individuals who are of similar ages. The groups rehearse for 12 weeks working towards a performance at the end of the semester. This is a social group working towards creating a musical performance.

Mommy and Me Music Therapy Group
$120.00 for a 10-Week Term
These groups are designed for a parent or caregiver and young children (newborn to age 3) to be attended together. Groups are designed for children newborn to 3 years of age. Music therapists will use a variety of stimulating and soothing music interventions to help your child learn and grow in the therapeutic environment. Experience music with your little one through singing, dancing, instrument play, story songs, sound exploration, movement, and more! Learn how music therapy can help your child develop cognitive, communication, behavioral, social, motor, and physical skills. We welcome mothers, fathers, and grandparents to attend with the child.
Young Children's Small Therapy Group- Ages 3-6
$220 for a 12-week term
Small groups (no more than 4-5 individuals) are formed based on similar ages and diagnoses. A group treatment plan is developed based on goals and objectives that are applicable to all group members. Individual documentation is written after each session and data is taken to measure progress. Documentation is provided on a monthly basis.
